Sakura Instrument is proud to be the exclusive global distributor of Flute Masters.
Founded in 1992, Flute Masters has devoted itself to the art of flute making and restoration. Over the years, our specialist repair workshop has cared for more than 10,000 instruments, including rare vintage flutes and models from around the world that require an exceptional level of expertise.
Flute making began in our third year, and since then, more than 1,000 Flute Masters instruments have been individually crafted. At Flute Masters, we believe that an instrument is not truly complete when it leaves the workshop. Its voice continues to evolve through the hands of the musician, developing a character that may be bright and vivid, or deep, warm, and resonant. It is this process of growth—the relationship between instrument and player—that lies at the heart of every flute we create.
FMC flutes have earned the trust and admiration of distinguished flutists around the world, including Henrik Wiese of the Bavarian State Orchestra, Hristo Dobrinov, Jun Sugawara of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and many others.
FMC founder Yoichi Nojima also shared a close personal friendship with the legendary flutist Julius Baker. The custom Yamaha flute “Julius Baker Special Model” played by Baker was personally handcrafted by Mr. Nojima, reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship and deep musical connections that have shaped the history of FMC.
